Cheerleaders compete for breast cancer awareness

On Sunday, the Ellwood City Little Wolverine termite cheerleaders’ competition squad participated in the Zeta Alpha’s Pink Ribbon Cheer Classic at Youngstown State University in Ohio.

The competition was strictly an exhibition with no place trophies handed out, as the squad was there mainly to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Yet, one award was given out for the “Judge’s Choice for Best Competition Performance,” and the award went to the Ellwood City Little Wolverine Termite Cheerleaders.  They were chosen by the Judges to have the best performance overall out of the 51 squads who participated at YSU.

In addition, the termite cheerleaders have been wearing pink during their games and collecting money for this specific competition.   With the assistance of the ECLW Twerp, Mighty-Mite, and Midget cheer squads, the ECLW cheerleaders were able to raise over $400 to donate to Breast Cancer Awareness charities.

The cheerleaders in the photo are (bottom row, left to right) Morgan Falsnik, Katelyn McKinney, Bailey Eaton, Katerina Litz, Breanna Reisinger, Hannah Morini; (top row, left to right) Taylor Grove, Angela Volpe, Serena Asalone, Abby Pitrelli, Haley Brown, Lexie Bukowski, Maria Ioanilli

Cheer Sponsors who were not pictured were Carol Pitrelli, Christie Bukowski, Tammy Morini, Shaelyn Barrett, Celia DeCarlo, Abby Konyak, Laiken Sesti.
