Lincoln High School student Sarah Reese, daughter of Tammy Kuriger, was named the January Lions Club Student of the Month.
Currently, Sarah is the president of the senior class, treasurer of National Honors Society, secretary of Peer Leadership, MORP Co-Chairperson of Senior High Student Council, and Co-Editor of the Ellwoodian. She is also a member of EC3, International Club, Club Hope, Newspaper Staff, Enrichment, Choral Capers, and ECTV News Crew.
Sarah was selected to represent Ellwood at the Extreme Leadership Conference and was a finalist for the 2012 Lawrence County Distinguished Young Women Program. She has served as the 2010 Y-Teens Queen and was on the 2011 Homecoming Court.
She is also a member of Concert Choir and has been a voice student of Miss Felecia Greco for the past six years. She has participated in the past 12 All-School Musicals with leading roles including Patsy in “Crazy for You,” Violet in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” and most recently Winnie Tate in “Annie Get Your Gun.”
While at Lincoln she has been a Varsity Cheerleader for the past four years and is currently Team Captain.
Sarah is a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where she performs in the Boar’s Head Festival; she is employed by J&T, and is a student ambassador for Clark’s Studio. She also volunteers for the Carpenter’s Project.
Her future plans are to attend either Penn State (University Park) or Temple University to major in Broadcast Journalism and minor in Advertising.
The Lions Club Student of the Month is honored with a dinner for her and her parents and a scholarship.
