Chris Dianni spoke to the Rotary on the Riverside Technology Education Program.  He said there are numerous classes that deal with engineering, drawing, drafting, graphics, metals, and other technological areas.

To assist the program, Dianni said that Ellwood City Forge donated two machines to the Riverside program worth about $160,000 each.

Mr. David Barensfeld, CEO/President of the Forge, explained the increase in retirement that will be happening in the coming years, and said that it will reduce the number of qualified Forge workers.

The partnership with the Riverside School District is a way to provide hands-on training for students to develop the qualification they will need.  A median salary for Forge workers is $53,000 plus benefits.
