Upcoming activities at EC Public Library

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library for the week of February 20th, as well as numerous upcoming activities, include:

Week of Feb. 20-24
At 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, an Afternoon Book Discussion Group for adults will commence.  This group, which normally meets the third Monday of every month, will discuss “Goldengrove,” by Francine Prose.

At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, there will be an Adult Knitting Group session.  The winter and spring sessions for this group have begun and members will meet on a weekly basis throughout both seasons.

Those attending work on individuals projects their own materials, but instructors are on hand to advise and assist.  New members are always welcome.

Spring Programs
The library’s spring programming for preschoolers begins the week of March 6 with eight weeks of programs scheduled.

Family ‘Laptime
This will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Families with babies and toddlers from 6 months of age and up are encouraged to attend.  Stories, songs, finger plays and more are featured.  This is an interactive program, so all children must be accompanied by family members.  Registration is not required, but is requested by the library.

Preschool Story Time
This event will begin March 8 and continue at 10:00 a.m. every Thursday for eight weeks. Children must have celebrated their third birthdays and be potty-trained to participate.  Class size is limited, and registration is required.

‘Dream Big! Sing Your Heart Out! Be a Star!
A special program designed to celebrate our great hometown! Join us as we write, perform, and product our very own hit song about Ellwood City, and then listen as the “world Premiere” of the song is featured.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity for area residents of all ages.  This special program is schedule for 6:30pm March 21 and is co-sponsored by the Ellwood City Area Public Library and Ellwood City Community Enrichment.
