Two residents arrested on drug charges

Two more drug arrests were made in the Ellwood City area thanks to the work from the Lawrence County Drug Task Force.

Laureen Renee Fischer, 31, and Roger Kelosky, 63, both of Ellwood City, were arrested on numerous drug-related charges and arraigned on Wednesday in front of District Magistrate Jerry Cartwright Jr.

Fisher was charged with three counts of Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Deliver and one count of Criminal Use of Communication Facility.  Kelosky was also charged with one count of Criminal Use of Communication Facility but only two counts of Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Deliver.

According to police, the arrest was made after a drug deal back on Jan. 17 that involved the selling of oxycontin pills.

The report says that Fisher was in contact via text message with an informant regarding the purchase of the pills.  Kelosky drove Fisher to the location of the drug deal, where 15 oxycontin pills were sold in the parking lot of The Store at 100 Line Ave., Ellwood City.

Both Fischer and Kelosky were arraigned on Wednesday and were held on $50,000 and $10,000 bonds, respectively, and will have their preliminary hearing at the Lawrence County Courthouse on Feb. 22.

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court said that these two arrests make 174 total drug arrests since he’s been in office, and 12 arrests within the last month.

Lawrence County District Attorney Joshua Lamancusa was in attendance during Monday night’s meeting. Lamancusa is a central figure in the Lawrence County Drug Task Force.

“I want to commend everyone involved in these drug arrests,” said Mayor Court during the meeting. “And, thank you Mr. Lamancusa for all your help.”
