POLICE: Theft, numerous vandalized vehicles

An Ellwood City woman was arrested for stealing over $3,000 during a one month period from the store she was employed at, according to Franklin Township police.

Krista Boring, 24, of Butler Ave., Ellwood City, was charged with theft last week after police said she entered false return transactions into the cash register at Radio Shack between October and November in 2011.

Police said the thefts totaled approximately $3,500 in almost 80 false transactions at Radio Shack in the Franklin Plaza, Ellwood City.

Criminal Mischief to Vehicles
Police were called to several residences last weekend for vehicles that were vandalized during the night or early morning.

Ellwood City police responded to a call at Wayne Avenue on Sunday.  A Chevy pickup had its window broken out.  Police investigated and there was no sign of an object thrown through it.

Police were then called to Spring Avenue also on Sunday for another vehicle that was damaged.  A GMC Jimmy had its window broken sometime overnight.

The vehicles were most likely vandalized Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
