Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Thursday, March 1, at 3:00 p.m. — “Food 4 Thought,” a book discussion group for students in 9th grade and up. The group will discuss the book, “The Keeper’s Tatoo,” by Gill Arbuthnott. More information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458.
Thursday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group. The winter and spring sessions for this group have begun and members will meet on a weekly basis throughout both seasons. Those attending work on individual projects and provide their own materials, but instructors are on hand to advise and assist. New members are always welcome. Call the library for more information.
Saturday, March 3, at 10 a.m. — “A Dog-Gone Good Story Time” is the theme of this month’s “Saturday Morning” event, a program designed for preschool and early elementary aged children and their families. The morning is highlighted by stories, songs, crafts and more. No registration is required, and all families are invited to participate. Call the library for more information
The library’s spring programming for preschoolers begins the week of March 6 with eight weeks of programs scheduled.
“Family Laptime” is held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Families with babies and toddlers from 6 months of age and up are encouraged to attend. Stories, songs, finger plays and more are featured. This is an interactive program, so all children must be accompanied by family members. Registration is not required, but is requested by the library. Those interested in participating may call the library for more information.
“Preschool Story Time” will begin March 8 and continue every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. for eight weeks. Children must have celebrated their third birthdays and be potty-trained to participate. Class size is limited, and registration is required. Those interested should call the library for more information.
“Dream Big! Sing Your Heart Out! Be A Star!” is a special program designed to celebrate our great hometown! Join us as we write, perform, and produce our very own hit song about Ellwood City, and then listen as the “world premiere” of the song is featured. Don’t miss this one of a kind opportunity for area residents of all ages.This special program is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21, at 6:30pm, and is co-sponsored by the Ellwood City Area Public Library and Ellwood City Community Enrichment.
