The Ellwood City Art Club, in anticipation for their 64th annual Spring Art Show, selected four award winners on Thursday evening.
Each award winner’s work will be displayed along with nearly 100 other pieces of art this weekend, beginning tonight at 7 p.m. and continuing on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The show is open to the public and free of charge.
This year’s judge was C. Keith Jones, an artist from the Pittsburgh area. Jones has lived and painted in Economy Borough for over 30 years, specializing in commissioned work for private collectors.
The following winners selected are as follows (photos at bottom):
- ‘Best of Show’ – Margarethe Halbraith-Cordes
- ‘Best Painting’ – Trudy Boots
- ‘Kegel Award’ – Louise Massung
- ‘Dimeo Award’ – Jan Keenan
The Kegel Award is given to a member (non-officer, non-instructor) who has done the most for the Art Club in the current year and the Dimeo Award is given to an officer or instructor who has done the most for the Art Club.
