EllwoodCity.org golf outing photos and recap

The weather was very cooperative Saturday as EllwoodCity.org held its 5th Annual Golf Scramble and Cookout at Del Mar Golf Course in Ellwood City.

And saying the weather was “very cooperative” is a bit of an understatement – the weather was as perfect as could be, making it five straight years with great weather at the EllwoodCity.org golf outing.

There were 11 teams participating this year, vying for a $600.00 first prize.  The winning team was comprised of Mike Schlosser, Clint Kotuby, Dave Martz, and Ross Wizomerski.  They carded a 13-under par 59.  The foursome captained by Jerry Ferruchie captured the $300 second prize with a 12-under par 60.  The second flight prize of $250 was won by a foursome captained by Brad Yocum.

Several skill prizes were awarded as well: Vince Vennusi won a TaylorMade putter for the longest drive on the par-4 16th hole (courtesy of Kasing Auto Sales), Doug Hogue won a Callaway driver for the longest putt on the par-4 18th hole (courtesy of Ironwood Golf Center), and Mike McDonald won $100 cash for driving and holding the 17th green (courtesy of Marshall Tree Experts).

Before the outing, participants were provided with coffee provided by T&M Hardware and donuts provided by Kimmel’s Bakery.

A Chinese auction was held after the event during the cookout, with all proceeds benefitting Ellwood City Revitalization.  Chinese Auction items were donated by EllwoodCity.org, Blocher Jewelers, Kimpel’s Jewelers, Loccisano’s, Ellwood City Hospital, ESB Bank, Beaver Valley Golf Club, Vinny’s Restaurant, Shad Hanna’s Memories Café, Pizza Joes, Chris’ Wolverine Restaurant, Venezia’s, La Isla Mexican Grill, and Candito’s Pizzeria and Ice Cream.
