Weekly Ellwood City Library Activities

Activities scheduled at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Creative Writing for Beginners that begins at 3 p.m. on Wednesday is a group designed for students in 7th through 9th grades.

The group will meet once each month to share their work and discuss writing techniques and styles. More information is available by calling the library, and new members are always welcome.

Creative Writing Workshop for students in 10th grade and up will be on Thursday at 3 p.m. This group meets twice each month to read and review their work. New members are always welcome, and more information is available by calling the library.

The Adult Knitting Group will be on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Members of this group meet on a weekly basis throughout the spring, and then once each month during June, July and August.

Those attending the sessions work on individual projects and provide their own materials, but instructors are on hand to advise and assist. New members are always welcome. Call the library for more information.

“Saturday Morning,” a program designed for preschool and early elementary-aged children and their families, is on Saturday at 10 a.m.  The morning is highlighted by a special theme of the day as well as by stories, songs, crafts and more.

This program is held the first Saturday of every month, and no registration is required. All area families are invited to participate. Call the library for more information.

“Jump Start to Kindergarten,” a program for children who will be entering kindergarten this fall, is scheduled for Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.

Programs for students who have completed kindergarten through 3rd grades will be held on Wednesday mornings — those who finished kindergarten and 1st grade will meet at 10 a.m., and those completing 2nd and 3rd grades will meet at 11 a.m.

“Puppet Theater Workshop,” designed for students in 4th grade and up will meet on Thursday mornings at 10 a.m.
