Budget will force more local tax hikes
State Rep. Jaret Gibbons voted on Thursday against the state budget negotiated between Gov. Tom Corbett and legislative Republicans. Heat index soars to 100 degrees for Festival, day 1
Thursday reached a high of 95 degrees in Ellwood City, according to officials, and it’s just going to get hotter on Friday. Ellwood sends three to Penn-Ohio Classic
Ellwood City will have a fine showing at this year’s Penn-Ohio All-Star Football Classic on Friday at Springfield High School in New Middletown, Oh. at 7:30 p.m. The Wolverines head coach Don Phillips was named coach of Team Pennsylvania, and two of his players from the 2011 season will be with him - tailback Kyle Crawford and lineman Gregg Williams. High speed chase through Ellwood
A local man faces a list of charges including attempted homicide, DUI, and resisting arrest after a lengthy, high speed chase that made its way through Ellwoood City and ended in Wayne Township. Gary James Jones, Jr., 29, of Big Run, New Castle, is in the Lawrence County Jail today after leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen truck stemming from an argument with his girlfriend late Tuesday night. The Juried Art Show has always been a staple of the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, and Food Festival in Ewing Park.
