The newly formed community interest group, “The Kitchen Cabinet,” with help from Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court’s office, is organizing a community-wide cleanup of the borough on Saturday.
Mayor Court, along with Earla Marshall who chairs the Kitchen Cabinet group, wanted to remind those interested in helping with the cleanup should meet in the Veteran’s Memorial Swimming Pool (Ellwood City Pool) parking lot at 9 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon.
The Ellwood City community and the local Boy Scout troops are participating in the cleanup of litter in different areas around the borough.
Mayor Court said that everyone is invited and encouraged to come out and help. Gloves, vests, and bags will be provided.
Other dates for the cleanup will be Aug. 4, Sept. 8, and Oct. 6.
