Police targeting DUIs during holiday
State and local police, along with PennDOT, will take part in a national enforcement effort through Labor Day on Sept. 3, targeting motorists driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. POLICE: Hit-and-run, criminal mischief, and vandalism
Ellwood City Police responded to a complaint Tuesday afternoon on Park Avenue in Ellwood City. According to reports Michael Mazur, 32, of Perry Township confronted Ashley McCullough, identified as Mazur’s girlfriend, and hit her vehicle with an object. Police said McCullough and Katie Twentier were in the vehicle when the attack took place. Mazur is charged with criminal mischief and two counts of reckless endangerment. The vehicle damage is estimated at $840 worth of damage. … Continue reading

The 50th Ellwood City Crime Watch meeting was held last night at the Municipal Building in Council Chambers. The guest speaker was Frank Sniezek, representative from Jaret Gibbon’s office, who spoke to visitors on Legislator Bills in regard to Half-way Houses. Man ‘Tebows’ after assaulting boy on tractor
Police are looking for a man who was allegedly “Tebowing” after assaulting a 17-year-old boy Monday morning. Shenango Township Police Department reported that at approximately 10:15 a.m., the boy was cutting grass at his home along Hollow Road when he entered the roadway to turn around the tractor. Community Plaza in final months of work
The owners of Combine Construction, the group behind the Ellwood City Community Plaza construction, said portions of the project will be completed by the end of August, and that final work will be concluded in September and October.
