The Red Barn Players are hosting a fundraising wine tasting event on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Red Barn Theatre along Route 288 in Fombell.
There will be seven wineries from around the area that will be present at this fundraising event; and they include Red Bandana Winery, Deer Creek Winery, Stone Springs Winery, Rustic Acres Winery, Greenhouse Winery, Winfield Winery, and Narcisi Winery.
Also participating in the event will be Windy Ridge Dairy providing the fresh cheeses, Rosalind Candy with handmade chocolates, and The Enchanted Olive featuring gourmet olive oils and vinegars.
For the price of $20, participants get to taste all seven wineries. The Red Barn Players are also encouraging designated drivers, and for just $5, they can enjoy cheese and crackers, fruit, soft drinks and bottled water.
Reservations are requested by phone or email with number of persons attending to either participate in the wine tasting or to be the designated driver. Phone reservations can be made by calling (724) 650-3054 and email reservations can be sent to redbarnwinefest@gmail.com.
Admission can be paid at the ticket booth the day of the wine tasting event, and debit/credit cards will be accepted.
This fundraiser is part of the Red Barn Players’ capital campaign in order to raise $500,000 in a three-year period to pay off the theatre’s mortgage and facility improvements. Some of the areas they hope to improve are restrooms, concession area, dressing rooms, and outdoor seating.
Established in 1955, the Red Barn Players, an all-volunteer group and nonprofit organization, have presented live plays and musicals to audiences for more than five decades at the Red Barn Theatre located conveniently between Ellwood City and Zelienople.
