Riverside nears completion of renovations

Riverside High School is reaching the completion of yet another summer of renovations.

Over the spring and summer, crews have been working on replacing rooftop heating and air conditioning units at the high school, said Assistant Principal Brian Churovia.

He said that it was a major project because much of the duct work and wiring on the roof needed updated with new materials. Seven HVAC units are being replaced and new ventilation units are being added.

The project was approved back in March to Guys Mechanical group out of New Sewickley Township.  According to school officials, it cost the district approximately $615,000.  At this time, nearly 85 percent of the project is completed.

Because of the construction, the main office has been temporarily relocated to the high school library.  School officials are instructing everyone to follow signs to the library until work is complete.
