POLICE: Hit-and-run, criminal mischief, and vandalism

Ellwood City Police responded to a complaint Tuesday afternoon on Park Avenue in Ellwood City.  According to reports Michael Mazur, 32, of Perry Township confronted Ashley McCullough, identified as Mazur’s girlfriend, and hit her vehicle with an object.  Police said McCullough and Katie Twentier were in the vehicle when the attack took place.  Mazur is charged with criminal mischief and two counts of reckless endangerment.  The vehicle damage is estimated at $840 worth of damage.

A two car accident sent both drivers to the Ellwood City Hospital Thursday morning.  The accident took place at the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Sixth Street.  According to Ellwood City police, Robert Buzzelli, 70, of Perry Township drove through a red light and collided with the east-bound path of Joscelyn Johnson, 23, of Ellwood City.  Both drivers were later released from the hospital.

A hit-and-run accident took place Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Fifth Street.  Katherine Sangiorgio, 76, of Ellwood City was stopped at the traffic light when a unidentified vehicle exited the McDonald’s restaurant parking lot and struck Sangiorgio’s vehicle.

A vandal or group of vandals threw tomatoes through windows of a home along South Jefferson Street in South New Castle.  There was also damage to a lamp post and motion-sensor light.  Shenango Township police estimated the damage at $640 and are asking anyone with information to call (724) 654-2243
