Commendation
Ellwood City Mayor Anthony J. Court presented commendations to Kristen Baney and Mackenzie Ray Staples for service to the community and to the Ellwood City Police Department.
According to Mayor Court during the presentation, both of these young women are to be congratulated as they are considered to be outstanding citizens by their peers.

Scholarship
Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 has awarded their 2012 Memorial $500 scholarship to Victoria Ann Venezie, daughter of Mark Venezie and granddaughter of Corona D’Italia ex-president Anne Venezie, all of North Richland Hills, Texas.
Victoria will graduate in May from Birdville High School in North Richland Hills and plans to attend Mary Hardin Baylor College to study nursing.
The scholarship criteria requires the recipient to be a member, child, or grandchild of a member of Lodge 807, and meet academic and social requirements. Victoria will graduate in the top 15 percent of her class.
She has served as vice president of student council, is a member of the National Honor Society, is in advanced placement classes, and a part of the Birdville Volleyball varsity team.Victoria is active in her church, and she is employed at the Sunny Street Café and babysits for families. Anne and Victoria plan to visit Ellwood City in the near future.
