Sabo, Jr. of Ellwood City died protecting his troops and our country – on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., his widow Rose Mary Sabo-Brown accepted his Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military honor, at a White House ceremony presented by President Barack Obama. Art Show now in its 64th year

The Ellwood City Art Club is having their 64th Spring Art Show this weekend, beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. and continuing on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The show is open to the public. Treatment for Jordan Brown announced Friday

Lawrence County Judge John W. Hodge is scheduled to provide the disposition for the Jordan Brown case on Friday. A disposition, which is the juvenile court equivalent for a sentence, focuses on treatment not on punishment of 14-year-old Brown. The case will be re-evaluated every six months, according to officials. Woman flees police, crashes into utility pole

An Ellwood City woman is in custody this morning after crashing into a utility pole when she fled from police. Christian Winterbottom, 26, of Franklin Avenue, was stopped by police just after 1 a.m. Friday along Line Avenue near North Street. Because there were outstanding warrants for her arrest, Winterbottom attempted to give police false identification.
