Plan to save dams like Hereford Manor Lakes
State Rep. Jaret Gibbons has introduced legislation that would use revenue from oil and gas operations on state-owned land to fund the reconstruction of high hazard dams, such as the Hereford Manor Lakes in Franklin Township, Beaver County. “Marcellus Shale drilling on state-owned land is generating millions of dollars for the state and creates a rare opportunity to repair and rebuild high risk dams, like Hereford Manor,” Gibbons said. “The extraction of our natural resources … Continue reading

Gibbons continues to push for Senate/House merger
State Rep. Jaret Gibbons continues to lobby for a merger of the Pennsylvania House and Senate, and now it seems that even more people are talking about the idea. Voter ID bill wastes tax dollars, threatens right to vote
State Rep. Jaret Gibbons voted Wednesday against H.B. 934, the so-called Voter ID legislation, that will waste millions of tax dollars and make it harder for thousands of seniors, young people, minorities and the working poor to vote. “We should be encouraging people to vote, not making it harder for someone to make their voice heard on Election Day,” Gibbons said. “This is clearly a Republican effort to diminish turnout of largely Democratic voters in … Continue reading

According to meeting minutes, she hadn’t attended any supervisor meetings from that time until her term expired at the end of 2011. In the November 2011 … Continue reading

State Rep. ‘No Budget, No Pay’ supported by Altmire
U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire, who represents several counties including Lawrence and Beaver, is pushing for the consideration of an interesting act, one that will surely force members of Congress to get their job done in an adequate time, or, quite simply, they won’t get paid. Altmire called on the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives to bring H.R. 3643, the “No Budget, No Pay” Act, to the floor for consideration. The legislation, sponsored by … Continue reading
