Saint Elias Orthodox Celebrates 100th Year

On Sunday, the Saint Elias Orthodox Church was presented with a commendation from Mayor Anthony J. Court on behalf of Ellwood City for their 100th Year as a parish family. Detroit Man Charged with Connection to Shooting

In continuing the investigation of the Loop Street shooting Sunday night, state police charged a Detroit-area man with connections to the incident. According to a local news source, Jeffrey Christopher Sack Jr., 22, of Highland Park, Mich., was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and simple assault on Monday. Council votes to not move Circle Playground Equipment

Nick Mancini raised his concerns at Monday night’s council meeting over the playgrounds in the area. He complained of the poor placement of playground equipment that prohibits local children from playing pickup baseball and football games. One Dead, Two Hurt in Ellwood Shooting

According to a local news source, a triple shooting occurred Sunday evening in an Ellwood City apartment complex, leaving one dead and two wounded. POLICE REPORT: Criminal Mischief; Public Drunkenness

Criminal Mischief: According to the police report, officers were dispatched to Ewing Park to meet with the Park Superintendent Jim Arkett. Local Airports to Receive State Grants

Four local airports will receive more than $2.4 million in grants for capital improvement projects, according to state Senator Elder Vogel. Beaver County Airport will receive $376,041 to remove obstructions and acquire snow removal equipment.
