Photos: The Pie Festival

The Lincoln High School Marching Blue Band kicked off the fall sports season with the annual Pie Festival yesterday at Helling Stadium. Sixty Years and over 285 Marriages

Many may not know Pastor John or his wife Janice Magargee, but odds are you may know someone that does or someone whose life has been touched by them. Mayor Awards Commendation to Lincoln Athlete

Mayor Court was honored to present to Taylor Petrak, a junior at Lincoln High School, a commendation, along with his congratulations, for her achievement as the recipient of the “Beaver County Girl’s Athlete of the Year” award for Swimming and Diving. Police and Fire: Laundromat Fire

Local fire departments, Noga Ambulance Service, and the Ellwood City Police Department responded to a laundromat fire around 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The fire, at Drop and Stop Laundromat on 313 Seventh St, started in a dryer. According to the police report, clothes in a running dryer caught fire. Monday Last Day for School Discount at Tax Office

The office of Tax Collector Mary Ann Portugallo in Ellwood City, located in the municipal building on Lawrence Ave., will be changing its hours from September through December. The office will be open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on Thursday and Friday. Also, Monday, August 31 is the last day the school discount. For more information, please contact the Ellwood City Tax Office at 724-758-9673.
