Riverside drops Homecoming game to North Catholic

On a night fit for a queen at Riverside Memorial Stadium, the home team jumped out to a 16-6 lead on a powerhouse opponent, but failed to hang on.  The Riverside Panthers (3-2) fell to undefeated North Catholic, 50-16, in front of a packed house on Homecoming Night. Drag Derby and Fall Fest a success

On Saturday, the Kitchen Cabinet, with the help of law enforcement, the fire department, and a slew of local businesses put together one of the most successful events in recent history. LHS Homecoming King selected at Pep Rally

Lincoln High School selected a new Homecoming King Friday during an afternoon pep rally.  Wolverine’s basketball standout Nick D’Itri was chosen as Homecoming King, and he received a crown and a pie in his face as reward. Other members of the court included Quinn Docchio, Jake Varrati, Derek Lust, Josh Williams, Tyler Neyman, Paul Lutz, and John Lubich. Congratulations to the new King and Queen from EllwoodCity.org!

Home Sweet Home: Wolverines handle Burgettstown

The Ellwood City Wolverines were not such gracious hosts during their homecoming celebration Friday night at Helling Stadium.  Junior running back Nick Ioanilli sprang for five touchdown runs, and compiled 219 on a mere 21 carries as the Wolverines (3-2) vanquished the visiting Blue Devils, 40-13. POLICE: Woman poses as dead sister during DUI stop

An Ellwood City woman faces drunk driving and false identification charges, amongst others, after police claiming to be her dead sister during a traffic stop in Blair County. Soap Box Derby a family tradition for the Klines

In 1936, Bernard “Bucky” Kline claimed the M.E. Coyle Trophy at Ellwood City’s first ever Soap Box Derby title as a 16-year-old. His brother, John, finished second in that same race. The Kline brothers spent plenty of time working on projects and hobbies together, so it made sense that they finished so closely in the race standings.
